RHIA Membership
Requirements
The criteria for membership is challenging because it is our goal to form a group of businesses that consumers would find comforting to hire due to of our high levels of competency. As you will read below, our requirements will separate the companies that are successfully established from the many choices of unqualified alternatives. All of our members have demonstrated the desire and ability to sacrifice nothing for client satisfaction.
Membership Criteria
One Member Per Business Classification. We will only accept one business for each category. We want to make sure we can offer the best company for a consumer in any particular field.
Managed Businesses Only
(exception for artisans)
A managed business is a business where the owner is not the technician. For example, the owner is not the painter, where he is booked for the next six months. A managed business allows for an entrepreneurial mind set to operate the business, where the owner has time to perfect the systems and reach a high level of customer satisfaction. It is understood, and an exception will be made for artisans.
In Business 5 Plus Years
We feel that most businesses fail within the first five years of being formed. It is at the five year mark where most companies find their footings for success.
Rockland Based Business
The founders of the Rockland Home Improvement Alliance are committed to offering the residents of Rockland County the best choices of businesses to choose from when considering work in their home. All of our members are located in Rockland and believe in strengthening our community.
Proper Licensing Requirements
As it is required by the Office of Consumer Protection, all members must be licensed, and show proof of such upon the membership process.
References 3 Personal & 3 Business
It is necessary that all companies wishing to join our organization provide both personal and business references to support their claims of an outstanding organization.
